After weeks (and in some cases, months) of “shelter in place” orders, some states are reopening their economies and allowing employees to return to work. Although this is incredibly exciting, it also presents certain health risks. In an effort to continue slowing the spread, Salesforce recently launched a group of new tools under the Work.com banner.

These new tools will provide several benefits, including:

  • Employee health surveys
  • Shift organization tools to encourage social distancing
  • A resource center with access to medical experts and business leaders
  • New contact-tracing technology

Surprisingly, Salesforce won’t be using the contact-tracing program developed by Apple and Google. Instead, it’s opting for a manual system that will use healthcare professionals. If an employee comes down with COVID-19, these professionals will contact potentially exposed workers via telephone, text or email.

Salesforce acknowledges that many businesses don’t yet feel comfortable bringing their employees back to the office. However, as the pandemic plays out, those opinions may change — particularly in areas of the country where the outbreak appears to be contained.

In addition, these tools aren’t yet officially ready. Salesforce plans on launching the full suite of Work.com services in early June. The price of the program will range depending on each business’s individual needs, but there will be several tiered packages.
